Love Yourself First

Sarah Jenkins

Valentines Day is a time we often focus on others – those we love most – to tell them how we feel and how much they mean to us.  We at NAFC are all for that – having strong social and family connections is an important part of living a happy life.  But we think it’s also important to focus on you once in a while too.

It’s kind of like the instructions you hear on an airplane – adults traveling with small children should attach their own emergency masks before helping their little ones.  This is sound advice – if you aren’t taking care of yourself and learning how to give yourself a break every now and then, you won’t be able to take care of and love those around you.  Love yourself first.  The rest will fall into line.

Now, go buy yourself some flowers, and check out these awesome quotes on self-love from Psychology Today for inspiration.
