Mission:
National Association For Continence is a national, private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people with incontinence. NAFC’s mission is threefold:
1) To educate the public about the causes, diagnosis categories, treatment options, and management alternatives for incontinence, nocturnal enuresis, voiding dysfunction and related pelvic floor disorders
2) To network with other organizations and agencies to elevate the visibility and priority given to these health concerns
3) To advocate on behalf of consumers who suffer from such symptoms as a result of disease or other illness, obstetrical, surgical or other trauma, or deterioration due to the aging process itself.

Funding:
NAFC’s activities are funded primarily by voluntary contributions from consumers, health professionals, and industry.

Objectives:
NAFC’s objectives are to destigmatize incontinence, to promote preventative measures, to motivate individuals to seek treatment, and to provide collaborative advocacy and service for those who are affected by this problem. To achieve its objectives, NAFC offers publications and services such as:

  • Quality Care, a quarterly newsletter that provides encouragement and practical information to over 100,000 readers.
  • The Resource Guide, Products and Services for incontinence, a comprehensive index of all known incontinence products and services available in the United States.
  • Continence resource Services (CRS), a database of healthcare professionals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of incontinence.
  • Pamphlets, audiovisuals, and books designed to educate the general public and healthcare professionals.
