Nancy Muller, Executive Director
Nancy Muller is the Executive Director of the National Association For Continence (NAFC). Ms. Muller has served in this capacity since 2000. She served as a member of the not-for-profit's Board of Directors from 1996 - 2005.
Nancy Muller is a seasoned executive with 20 years of experience in the healthcare sector and whose talents combine practical knowledge with intellectual and visioning abilities. Leading a national NGO for over a decade and serving on both domestic and global boards and advisory teams, she has published widely in journals and made numerous presentations before audiences at national and international conferences.
She demonstrates strengths in healthcare strategy, competitive analysis, patient advocacy, creative development of public education programs in women’s health, not for profit organization management, and collaborative partnerships. In addition to her full-time work, she serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Health Administration at VCU where she teaches health care marketing to graduate students. Her main areas of healthcare research expertise include strategic management, service line strategies, community hospital specialization, and patient satisfaction. With an additional 15 years of prior corporate business experience, her track record includes achievements in international sales management, strategic planning and business development, product line marketing, and finance.
Following her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Duke University, Muller earned her master’s degree in business administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and subsequently her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University in health services research. She has lived abroad in both The Netherlands and France and traveled extensively in over 30 countries. For 28 years, she has been married to Warren Mersereau and together they have two sons, Bryant and Davis. Muller has remained active in community leadership throughout her adult life by contributing in education, to the arts, and through her faith.
